The FIA’s Boland branch hosted their sixth annual Outdoor day on Friday 6 September at the beautiful Elgin Grabouw Country club.
This year they were proudly joined by headline sponsor Rola Motors Group.
The day started off with a presentation from Major General (Retired) Johan Jooste, Head of Special Projects of SANParks, who spoke about the seriousness of Rhino Poaching in South Africa. Not that it required high-lighting but it really had our members thinking long and hard about the severity of the situation and how they can assist.
Pietman Geldenhuys lightened the mood and had everyone in stitches with his funny comedy sketch of being a worldwide student and songwriter, all done in a perfect Scottish accent.
Then the real fun began. Members were split into two groups who then alternated between networking with the sponsors, insurers and other guests while the other group went on a self-drive 4×4 experience.
“We had a very enjoyable day. From the interaction with the sponsors to the entertainment and of course the drive, which was amazing. The day ran like clockwork and was clearly very well planned” says Nico Barnard, Financial Director of Galileo Risk Insurance Solutions.
