Fulcrum Collections Welcomes Asiya Swaleh as New Business Development General Manager

Fulcrum Collections, the premium collections division of The Fulcrum Group, has appointed Asiya Swaleh as General Manager: Business Development. Her appointment is effective 1 October 2021, and she will be based at Fulcrum Group’s Bryanston office. 

Asiya, who started her career at Liberty Life, brings fifteen years insurance and financial services expertise to Fulcrum Collections. Her extensive network and knowledge in key areas, including premium collection handling, premium finance and acquisition finance, will be an asset as Fulcrum expands its market leading position in the collections space. 

Jade Jensen, Designate MD of Fulcrum Collections, said, “In addition to her energy and infectious enthusiasm, Asiya brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to Fulcrum.  I am thrilled to have her on board.” 

Outgoing MD of Fulcrum Collections, Barry Scott, added, “Asiya is a welcome addition to the Fulcrum Group.  Her high profile, deep industry knowledge, specifically in collections, adds even more energy and experience to further strengthen our management team.” 

Asiya is a member of the Insurance Institute of South Africa. She was a councillor and mentor for the Insurance Institute of Gauteng where she served on the IIG Roots & Wings Mentorship Program for four years. 

On her appointment, Asiya commented, “Fulcrum is a proven innovator in the premium collections space, and I’m delighted to be part of the journey. Among her numerous qualifications, Asiya holds a Higher Certificate in Insurance Management from Milpark Business School, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Bachelor of Science (Astronomy and Astrophysics) from Oxford University. 

Based in Johannesburg, in her spare time Asiya enjoys being active and is a self-proclaimed fan of Formula 1.
