Biography
George Dell joined the financial services industry in 1984 and has since held senior client-facing and leadership roles at some of South Africa’s most respected financial institutions. Today, he serves as Executive Director of MitonOptimal Portfolio Management and MitonOptimal South Africa, sitting on the MitonOptimal Holdings (Pty) Limited Board. In this role, George is responsible for the strategic direction, business oversight, client relationships, and the development of strategic partnerships that position MitonOptimal as one of South Africa’s leading independent Discretionary Fund Management (DFM) service providers. As a Key Individual (KI), George plays a pivotal role in ensuring that MitonOptimal remain compliant, client-focused, and aligned with FAIS and FSCA requirements. His KI responsibilities extend to governance, business oversight, and accountability across critical business areas, ensuring that MitonOptimal continues to deliver consistent, risk-adjusted investment solutions that meet the needs of financial advisors and their clients. Beyond his executive responsibilities, George is also a Director of the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa (FIA) and currently serves as Chair of the Discretionary Investment Management (DIM) Executive Committee. In this capacity, he plays a key role in representing and advancing the interests of DFMs in South Africa, engaging with regulators, product suppliers, and industry stakeholders. George’s focus remains on staying abreast of emerging industry trends and ensuring that MitonOptimal adapts to an evolving financial services environment. Central to his leadership philosophy is building and sustaining strategic relationships that foster growth, strengthen market relevance, and keep MitonOptimal front of mind as a trusted DFM partner to advisory firms across the country.
