Current Responsibilities
Selven manages the Digital Strategy across Africa and is also responsible for all Affinity Business (volume business including commercial & consumer business) across South Africa. Selven is responsible for the development and implementation of the Digital Strategy across Africa, as well as the Growth Strategy across all segments within his division.
Experience
Selven’s career started in the Insurance Industry over 20 years ago and has spanned across multiple sectors within the Industry from Insurers, Brokers and BancAssurance, before joining Marsh in 2019.
Selven has taken on many roles in the Insurance Industry, mostly linked to Sales and Distribution. He was responsible for Intermediary Development at Santam, where the focus was on black broker development, digital enhancements, JVs and Acquisitions. Selven was also responsible for setting up a start-up Insurance Company, which was a JV between Santam and PPS Group. He was responsible for setting up the company across the entire value chain from product development, T.O.M, system development and sales & distribution. Selven joined Marsh in 2019 and was responsible for the development and launch of an enhanced solution for the volume business (P/Lines and Commercial), underpinned by Technology and linked to behavioural analytics and rewards. Selven is now focussing on implementing the Affinity strategy into Africa to identify opportunities within existing clients, to enhance their value proposition, increase revenue and/or mitigate risks through Affinity Solutions. Selven has now taken on the additional role of implementing the Digital Strategy across the Africa region for Marsh. Selven is an Associate of the I.I.S.A (A.I.I.S.A qualification), has an Executive MBA from UCT and also a graduate from The INSEAD Business School in France.
