Theoniel McDonald is a Certified Financial Planner® with over 20 years of experience in financial advice and wealth management. He has held several leadership roles, including Managing Director of Wealth Associates Central and WA Fiduciary Services, and served on the main board of Wealth Associates South Africa for a decade.

A long-standing member of the Financial Intermediary Association (FIA) since 2014, Theoniel served on its board from 2015 and as Vice President from 2021 to 2023. In these roles, he has consistently championed the evolving value of professional advice in South Africa’s dynamic financial landscape.

He currently serves as Head of Financial Planning at Carmel Wealth and as a Senior Advisor at Wealth Associates. He was recently appointed to the board of Carmel Wealth, where he represents minority shareholder interests.

Theoniel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning and an MBA, both from the University of the Free State. Known for his strategic thinking, collaborative leadership, and commitment to professional development, he brings a strong voice for both experienced practitioners and the next generation of advisors.
