The annual FIA awards took place at the Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday, 28 June 2018.The night was abuzz with over 900 guests all in attendance to honour key industry players, intermediaries and exceptional brands in the financial services sector.
The theme of the evening was #FIAsenses playing on the idea of the five senses. The FIA would like to send a big thank you to our 2018 sponsors of the event who ensured that guests were entertained and also gave away some amazing prizes.
In celebration of 100 years in the insurance industry, Santam took guests to new heights with a floating singer. The performer was elevated about 10 feet off the ground by Santam balloons. With the insurance environment becoming more complex, the role of intermediaries is becoming increasingly important as clients need a proper risk manager and advisor.
“At Santam, the brokers are our business” so says Edward Gibbens, Head of Commercial and Personal Insurance. “The bulk of our business comes through intermediaries and we would like to thank them for their continued support over the last century” he concludes.

The performance was spectacular and one of a kind, it took the guests by surprise but they thoroughly enjoyed it. “The performance added an element of thrill and magic which the audience enjoyed. “The highlight of my evening, it was spectacular. Well done Santam,” comments FIA CEO, Lizelle van der Merwe.
