On the 28th of June, we had the privilege of participating in the 2018 FIA Awards, while at the same time launching our exciting new brand to the industry – and what a fantastic night it was! Elite Risk Acceptances, a specialist underwriter and wholly owned subsidiary of Old Mutual Insure will be providing bespoke short-term insurance and personal risk solutions to wealthy individuals as of 01 August 2018.
We didn’t just want to be recognised – although since we were using the opportunity to introduce our brand to the industry we did want to get noticed – but also to bring an added touch of glamour to complement this already prestigious event. And what better way to do that than to host a red carpet extravaganza!
Guests were invited to walk down the Elite red carpet on arrival, where our host, fashion stylist Kristi Vlok, interviewed them in front of the camera to find out more about their outfits and what inspired them. We handed out first class ‘airline tickets’ inviting guests to enter our Elite Best Dressed competition with a prize holiday to any Club Med resort in the world valued at R60 000!
To be in the running to win this jet-setting prize, all our red carpet divas and gents had to do was upload images of themselves on the red carpet to their Facebook or Twitter pages tagging #DressElite and #FIAwards. The response we received from guests blew us away, and everybody seemed to love the red carpet experience and being treated like a celebrity – we wanted to make them feel like they were on the red carpet in Cannes. The entries came rolling in and our judges had their work cut out for them – there were so many exquisite outfits.
In the end, however, there could be only one winner, and a very dapper Unathi Ntengo walked away with the prize! Unathi wowed the judges with his individual classic yet quirky style. He wore a dapper navy-and-green striped check suite with a golden bow tie and two-tone brown shoes to finish it off.
A better experience and entry into the industry we could not have hoped for! We’d like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the FIA Awards organisers for allowing us to participate and share in the success of this magnificent evening. Nothing makes us more proud than knowing we are part of this amazing industry. Our sense of achievement is at its best on the night of the FIA Awards when excellence in the industry in celebrated in such a wonderful manner.
With thanks from the Elite team, Christelle Colman, Managing Director, and Tarina Vlok, General Manager.
