The benefits of an AIE sponsorship

One of the best ways to get your brand noticed in the insurance industry is to become a sponsor of the AIE conference. We posed some questions to a few of this year’s AIE sponsors to get an idea of the thinking behind their sponsorships.

Collin Molepe, Managing Executive at Absa Short Term Insurance

How long have you been sponsoring the annual insurance conference?

2022 will be the first time Absa Insurance Company sponsors the event

What is your involvement this year?

The business has pledged silver sponsorship for the event.

Why do you believe the conference is important for the insurance industry?

The annual conference is an important milestone for the industry. It creates an opportunity for colleagues to engage about the future of the sector, get insights on new developments. But, more importantly, it creates opportunities for continuous development.

What benefit do you gain from sponsorship?

Besides contributing towards a good cause for the industry, we get brand promotion and awareness. The business is excited to be part of this initiative. We look forward for more opportunities to sponsor and influence young professionals within the insurance industry to help propel their careers.

Phila Maboa, Senior Manager: Insurance Sales at Netstar

How long have you been sponsoring the annual insurance conference?

We’ve been proud sponsors for over 10 years, and in this decade we’ve seen our industry peers grow from strength to strength. On that note, we’re especially glad to see our friends in the industry at this conference now that we’ll be meeting in person – we’ve been able to maintain our relationships with everyone online but it’s so much better to be able to grow these connections in real life!

What is your involvement this year?

We are Platinum Sponsors at the AIE Conference and will be sponsoring the registration process. The fact that we’re up front at this year’s conference is especially relevant to us at Netstar as we’re looking forward to welcoming delegates and all participants. We relish our community and can’t wait to meet our peers – new and old – as we sign up together.

Why do you believe the conference is important for the insurance industry?

I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that we have been through challenging times as individuals and organisations over the past two years. The conference theme ‘Resurgence. Resilience. Revival’ speaks volumes about what needs to be done to move forward. Conferences such as the AIE are a great platform for information sharing, ideation and networking so that collectively we succeed.

What benefit do you gain from sponsorship?

Honestly, there is so much to gain from rolling up our sleeves and getting involved with this. Aside from learning from such high-calibre speakers at the AIE, sponsoring an event like this shows our intent: that we are committed to this industry and giving back to our community is a win for everyone. Ultimately, we’re focused on mitigating risk and this makes us no different from our partners in the insurance industry and their clients for that matter. We’re also excited to showcase how Netstar can partner with the insurance industry and to use this brilliant opportunity to learn what is happening in this dynamic market.

Amongst our offerings, I’m looking forward to sharing the acclaimed Netstar CPD HUB that supports professional development and personal growth in the insurance industry.

We are proud to be associated with initiatives that bring value to our partners and their customers, and the long-standing relationship we have enjoyed with the AIE has been beneficial for us as a brand, and hopefully for all that participate on this platform. Personally, I’m really looking forward to this and so are the rest of the Netstar team. See you there!

Patrick Nobbs, Marketing Director: EMEA & APAC at Sapiens

How long have you been sponsoring the annual insurance conference?

Sapiens has been supporting this event since our inception in South Africa the best part of a decade ago

What is your involvement this year?

This year we are a gold sponsor and will take a large size stand to meet and greet our customers and prospects and welcome anybody interested in short-term or life products, or reinsurance solutions.

Why do you believe the conference is important for the insurance industry?

Post Corona, connecting the industry again is critical. Conferences like this provide the motor for innovation and sharing new ideas, as well as ensuring vendors, agents and insurers get the best from each other, celebrate achievements and also discuss solutions to the challenges we all face

Sapiens is growing fast in South Africa and we believe our solutions offer our customers and ultimately our consumers better choices, a road to digital transformation and lower costs going into the future. Sapiens is proud to be a sponsor and is open to reach out to insurers, potential Insurtech partners and customers at this year’s conference. We are thrilled to be back in a face-to-face environment and look forward to meeting as many people as possible this year.

Muzi Dladla, Executive Manager: Stakeholder Management at Sasria

How long have you been sponsoring the annual insurance conference?

About 9 years now

What is your involvement this year?

Sasria is a Gold sponsor for the 2022 AIE conference. We are sponsoring the Digital Conference Brochure.

Why do you believe the conference is important for the insurance industry?

The 2022 conference is the first since the start of Covid. It is a great opportunity to bring the industry together and for us to regroup and reflect on the learnings from the pandemic. It also gives us the chance to learn how to operate in the new normal and to take advantage of the opportunities that emerged in the aftermath of the crisis. The conference is also a great opportunity to network and keep abreast of trends and industry developments.

What benefit do you gain from sponsorship?

Our sponsorship exposes the Sasria brand to the industry. Following from the July unrest of 2021, it is important, now more than ever for Sasria to be more visible and to increase the awareness of the Sasria brand.

This sponsorship gives us an opportunity to engage with our stakeholders and to cement the partnerships that we have with them.
