The FIA Protea Branch held their AGM & Year End Function on the 9th of November 2018 at the stunning Da Vincenzo Italian Restaurant & Venue.
Members were welcomed with refreshing cocktails and were invited to network with one another as this would be the last branch event for the year.
Roy Mc Lachlan, the branch chairperson, opened the AGM with FIA & Branch Feedback for the year, demonstrating to members how much work is involved to make the branch run throughout the year. He noted successes the FIA had this year, and without a doubt, proved to all present the value that the FIA provides for members.
Bernard Lubbe, Northern Regional Manager, said a few words of thanks to the members and the Branch Committee, as well as welcomed the new Rand Regional Manager, Solani Baloyi.
Peter Atkinson of the FIA was in charge of the formalities of the AGM, and the existing Committee was voted back in. We are also excited to have two new members voted onto the Protea Branch Committee.
Members were then engaged through a live electronic survey. The feedback received is of great value and will be used to ensure the members receive the value they expect and deserve from the FIA.
Members were also lucky enough to receive CPD training from Bryte Insurance’s Mark Thorp & Lana Mizen, speaking on the subject of Hospitality Risks & Exposure Mitigation.
Members were then treated to an incredible lunch, drinks and dessert, ending the Protea Branch’s year on high point.
