At the recent Money Smart Week – held annually in South Africa – Anton Swanepoel, Chairperson of the Financial Planning Executive Committee of the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa (FIA) spoke about the current and future issues around the need for consumers to seek professional and expert financial advice before buying financial products such as short-term insurance, healthcare schemes, investments and life insurance.
